(W.B.) Am 12. April überlegte ich, ob es nicht allmählich an der
Zeit sei, Margaret Brademeyer eine Mail zu schicken. Das tat ich dann endlich einen Tag später. Wenige Stunden später antwortete sie mir:
Dear Willi and Gerda,
This has been a most wonderful day to receive your letter about the Bredemeier families.
Oh yes, we are still most interested in our family in Germany.
We have looked at the website that you mentioned and are much impressed by all of it.
Yes, it is in the German language, but with my "little" knowledge of your language and the
wonders of modern electronics, I was able to translate portions of it as I wished.
It will take us more time on that website to absorb all of the knowledge there.
On the photo of the reunion, we see that Friedhelm and Magdalene were able to attend.
His grandfather Carl Heinrich "Friedrich" Bredemeier was a brother to my husband Fred's grandfather Friedrich "Wilhelm" Bredemeier.
And their parents were Carl Friedrich (1841-1917) and Wilhelmine Tegtmeier Bredemeier.
We have constant contact with the sister of Friedhelm, Anne and Ralf Pretzer.
We have visited those families many times.
It has been some time since I worked on the genealogy of the Bredemeier family, it needs to be refreshed into my memory.
We think that the next time together in 2021 would be something to look forward to.
Maybe with our age it would not be possible, but we have Brademeyer children and grandchildren that we would encourage to come. We also know that the Bredemeier families in Nebraska, US
would also look forward to this.
Our son is now the owner of the Brademeyer farm and has a page on the internet that you may enjoy seeing:
https://www.brademeyerfarmsredangus.com/
We will stay in contact with you.
Best regards to you and Gerda, and also to your family
Fred and Margaret Brademeyer
Und das war meine vorausgegangene E-Mail:

Subject: Bredemeier/Brademeyer: Family History
Dear Margret Brademeyer,
mein Name is Willi Bredemeier. With my wife Gerda I am living in Hattingen in the Ruhr-Valley and we have two children and three grandchildren.
For decades I have worked as an independent journalist and market researcher. My publication "Open Password", born in 1986, ist still living with 4 issues the week and is distributed
online. You´ll find all issues since 2016 under www.password-online.de/archiv.
In the beginning of the 90s you and I had a short correspondance. 20 years later Gerda and I discovered the "Bredehof" and the "Hofladen Bredemeier" by chance. This lead to friendships, a plan
for a novel (working title: "The Bredemeiers") and a meeting of 74 Bredemeiers in Uchte (Lower Saxony) in September last year. In Uchte we were united in
the opinion: "If we shall meet in 2 years again (2021), we will also invite the Bredemeiers in the U.S."
I have also launched the website www.unterbredemeiers.jimdo.com for communicating among the Bredemeiers und for collecting stories about members of the Bredemeier family.
Unfortunately nearly all texts are in German, but you may know some people which are on the photo of our meeting in Uchte on the home page and you may have a look on my excerpts of your online
pages. Please klick on the homepage upon "Geschichte des
Bredehofes aus amerikanischer Sicht" ("A History of the Bredehof from an US Perspective").
Are you interested in renewing your contacts in Germany? Gerda and I are looking forward to your answer.
Best wishes and kind regards
Gerda + Willi Bredemeier
